Signs of Weakness UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Second Mighty Mile will be coming up the day after this year's turkey trot and so I wanted to recap last year's results first (since I didn't do it)(as told by Mike Selig):
The first WNY Black Friday Mighty Mile was a success despite the harsh weather conditions. Solid field of 13 made it out for the soon-to-be legendary annual event. A last minute course change forced a 4 taco race, but this deletion made for a much more dramatic finish. The itself race was heated from the start and was tight until the final lap where Ryan Poley, of Williamsville, took charge and ran away from Orchard Park High School alum Steve Cahoon. The results are as follows:
1.) Ryan Poley - 8:26
2.) Steve Cahoon - 8:40
3.) Michael Bakowski - 9:14
4.) Joseph Whelan - 9:38
5.) Joseph Armenia - 9:50
6.) Michael Selig - 9:59
7.) Joseph Chernowski - 10:09
8.) Paul Culligan - 10:14
9.) Jesse Mang - 10:15
10.) Jon Selig - 13:09
11.) David Welby - 13:41
12.) Peter Holowka - 14:35
DNS - Daniel Giza (did finish all four tacos)
Special thanks to Christine Spelman, Mike Yemma, Todd Witzleben, Betsy Selig, Norah Selig and W. Gilmore Selig for officiating the race. It was a grand time.
This year's Mighty Mile will be the day after Thanksgiving at noon. See you there.
